This serioes of lesson plans aim to expose students to real word scenarios in which STEM concepts apply. Students will gain knowledge of how the ingredients in soaps impact their lives and will go through researching harmful chemicals found in them to creating and selling their own healthier version of the product.

 

Based on the Alberta Grade 9 Health Curriculum (2002): “…students will take charge in encouraging their friends, community, and family to live a healthy lifestyle. They will look at laws in place about health and safety and whether they think changes should be made. “ (p. 8-27)
